What is MasterLink?

MasterLink is a tool for donors to financially support DAI’s Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) while staying connected to what is going on in the MAOL throughout Africa and Asia.  By joining MasterLink donors commit to providing funds that are used to sustain and expand the MAOL. Donors will receive regular MasterLink updates that include reports from students, faculty, and administrators about the impact the MAOL is having in communities as Christian leaders are empowered and equipped to better serve.

Why is indigenous leadership development important?

The Church is growing rapidly across the Majority World through the efforts of evangelists and church planters. However, effective leadership is a challenge due to lack of access to training. Indigenous leadership development enables these Majority World leaders to have a tremendous impact simply by learning to work effectively and efficiently in their communities. Without the need to overcome language and cultural barriers, the effectiveness of indigenous leaders ministering in their own communities is invaluable.

How does DAI/MasterLink offer an MA degree?

DAI partners with local universities and seminaries to offer an accredited Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership. The program is available to Christian leaders in a growing number of countries throughout the Majority World.

Who plays a part in the DAI MasterLink Program?

The MA degree program is a series of partnerships between:

  • Development Associates International serving as the catalyst
  • A local university or seminary that hosts the program and provides accreditation
  • Local Christian Non Government Organizations, denominations, and churches who send their leaders for training
  • Adjunct professors from all over the world, bringing academic qualifications, cultural experience, and practical application
  • Curriculum authors with specific expertise
  • MasterLink scholarship investors
  • The scholars

What is my role as a MasterLink Donor?

     As a MasterLink donor you:

  • Provide funds needed to sustain the Masters program.
  • Pray for the MAOL and the students in the program. The Majority World is a difficult place to study and conduct such a strategic program. Often daily upheavals provide ongoing challenges to students and the program that only spiritual warfare and intercessory pray can solve.

Where will my money go and what are the costs of the MA Program?

Your donation goes directly to the institute (DAI) providing the MAOL. While students in the program pay the local tuition rates of the accrediting university, these funds are not enough to cover the costs of the program. Program costs include:

  • Residencies - Twice a year cohorts (groups) of students gather to take exams and meet with their new professors who introduce upcoming courses. Students and professors spend a week together before returning to their homes to complete the coursework from a distance.
  • Professors’ stipend and travel expenses to residencies.
  • Curriculum development, translations, revisions and printing.
  • Administrative expenses.

What are the MasterLink commitments and costs?

As a MasterLink donor we ask that you commit to supporting the MAOL for one year. We welcome any amount you desire to give, but offer the suggestion of $125 a month which covers the cost for one student to complete a year in the program.

How often do I make payments?

Your gifts can be paid monthly, quarterly, annually, or all at once. It is your decision.

How do I become a MasterLink sponsor?

Sponsoring the MAOL through MasterLink is simple. To begin your MasterLink donations online, by phone, or by mail click on the "Donate" button at the top of the page.
