Papua
Over the last 50 years, Papua has blasted from the stone age to the computer age leaving a trail of collateral damage. Papuans are confused and easily abused and the abused become the abusers. Leaders who grew up in isolated valleys steeped in animism, wracked with warfare and cannibalism are now having to make decisions about economics, politics and education in a global era.
DAI Ministry Associates Scotty and Heidi Wisley are working with the Papuans in three areas: Elementary Education, Marriage and Family and Leadership Development. This three pronged approach to bringing in positive change to a village context is vital in a holistic approach that builds the whole community. We seek to strengthen the core grassroots elements of the Papuan village not only to weather the storm of change but to harness it to their advantage.
